The O.C. Great Park 1-23-11

We took the kids to the O.C. Great Park since there was a farmers market and gourmet food truck vendors there. Here is David at the Galbi truck.

We got a steak burrito and shrimp quesadilla. The food was ok but the Kogi truck was much better.

For a great park it wasn't so great...at least not yet. David said construction has been halted because they ran out of money. The only good thing was there was a free carousel. This was Justin's first time on a carousel and he absolutely loved it!

Katie is a carousel pro by now but she still loves it. Here she is with her green doggie balloon.

We didn't even get to go on the big orange hot air balloon because it was closed due to windy weather.

They definitely need to fix the kids playground. All it had was a slide. It doesn't even have any swings. What playground doesn't have swings!

Aquarium of the Pacific 1-15-11

We took the kids to the aquarium and we couldn't figure out if Katie was scared of the fish or all the people. Either way it took her awhile to warm up to the place.

This was probably the highlight of the aquarium for Katie... eating cantaloupe!

After a couple of hours it was obvious Katie had her fill of the aquarium so we went outside to get some fresh air.

Poor Justin! Do you see how his father carries him!

The Sushi of My Life

My pediatrician told me that I couldn't have sashimi while breastfeeding and so I suffered in silence for 10 whole months only to find out that all this time I could've been enjoying this delicious food the entire time. I finally called a lactation consultant who told me that it was perfectly safe for me to eat sashimi and pretty much anything else my heart desired. After hearing this I had to get some sashimi pronto! So we went to Tokyo Table to celebrate and here I had the sushi of my life. I must come back!

Pomegranate infused sake

Spicy Tuna Summer Roll

Lobster Dynamite

Sushi Pizza

Pieces of tuna and salmon

Scallop Dynamite Roll

Tuna Crunch Roll and Fire Roll

Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll

Garlic Tuna

You sear the garlic tuna at your table. This dish was absolutely delicious! I could've had more of it if I had room in my tummy.

Watermelon Tokyo Style Mojito

Honey Toast

Bill Barber Memorial Park 1-8-11

We took the kids to the park one Saturday morning.

This was Justin's first time on the swings and he absolutely loved it from the beginning.

Katie was such a good big sister helping to push him.

Katie Gives David a Hair Cut

Out of no where Katie takes the Wii remote and starts pretending to give David a hair cut.

I bet you didn't realize the Wii remote has many functions. First it acts as a comb or brush.

Then the opposite end acts as a razor to shave off your hair.

Katie seems more focused on the television here than giving David a proper shave. Lucky for him it's not a real shaver!

And Katie uses this part of the Wii remote to add last minute touch ups.
