Boston Children's Museum 3-26-11

On our first real day in Boston we decided to take the kids to the Boston Children's Museum. The kids absolutely loved this place. If you are ever in Boston and have kids you have to take them here. It is 3 stories with a whole bunch of different playrooms. We were here from 10 am to 3 pm and Katie didn't want to leave.

Here is a picture of Boston's skyline.

Hood seems to be the popular brand of milk in Boston. There is a huge Hood milk building in front of the Boston Children's Museum.

Once you enter the museum there is this huge maze for the kids to play in. It spans the entire 3 stories of the museum.

Katie was a little scared to go in the maze at first.

But by the end of the day she absolutely loved it. We didn't think she would make it to the 2nd level but she surprised us by going up all 3 levels!! We were worried she wouldn't be able to find her way back down but she surprised us again. And the minute she came down she said she wanted to go back up. I wish I had gotten a picture of how proud David looked when she emerged from the maze.

This is the bubble room. The kid behind David is enclosing himself in a huge bubble.

This was the camping room. There is a huge tent for the kids to play in.

This is the construction room.

This is the grocery store.

After the museum we had to visit Harvard University. Harvard is a really nice campus. Brick buildings are so pretty.

Here is an aspiring Harvard student.

Near the university is a huge Curious George store.

This George doll was almost as big as Katie.

For dinner we ate at Cambridge 1 near Harvard. Justin seems to want a sip of David's beer.

This is a grilled chicken, roasted red pepper, mozzarella, and romano pizza. David liked it but I needed more dough. It was a very thin pizza.

After dinner we headed over to Mike's Pastry. This place was crazy busy! The line was practically all the way to the end of the block.

Luckily the lines moved super fast and we emerged with our box of goodies.

Mike's Pastry has so many different kinds of cannolis it was hard to choose. They were absolutely delicious! David even liked them and he's not a fan of sweets or cannolis.

Atlantic Fish 3-25-11

David was only suppose to work half day today so we were expecting him to be back after lunch. However, I got a text from him saying he wouldn't be coming back until 3 pm. Bummer! The kids spent the day drawing and playing with make shift toys.

Justin had a blast playing with empty water and milk bottles.

I think this dinner and one other dinner we had in Boston was the best. We went to Atlantic Fish for dinner and we actually didn't think we would make our reservations because we had to walk like 7 blocks to get there but luckily we made it.

New England Clam Chowder

2 lb Maine Lobster with corn on the cob and potatoes. I swear this was a very impressive lobster but I regret asking the waiter to shell the lobster in the kitchen since I thought it would be easier to eat with 2 kids. This picture doesn't do the lobster justice.

Atlantic Cod baked with garlic breadcrumbs with corn pudding and mashed potatoes. This dish was amazing. The fish was delicious and the corn pudding was very good!

Grassfields Steak & Seafood 3-24-11

Our first full day in Boston we spent in the hotel room while David went to work. The kids watched some television and played with David's iPod touch.

I absolutely love it when the two kiddies are affectionate towards each other.

For dinner we went to Grassfields Steak & Seafood. The seafood pies were really really good. I didn't care for the steaks too much.

Crabmeat Pie & Petite N.Y. Sirloin with Grassfields Special Rice Pilaf

Lobster Pie & Teriyaki Tips with Baked Potato

Chicken Fingers with French Fries

Mississippi Mud Ice Cream Pie (This was absolutely delicious!)

It was snowing when we left the restaurant and David got a really good picture of Katie in it.

Burtons Grill 3-23-11

Our first day in Boston we didn't get to do much. When we got the rental car we realized we had to install the car seats ourselves. The car seats were horrible. They were so old looking I wanted to complain but they weren't expired so there really wasn't anything we could do about it. By the time we were done installing the car seats it was dinner time. David found this place called Burtons Grill that was actually quite good.

This homemade pesto sauce was really good.

Firecracker Shrimp

Lobster Mac N Cheese

Ribeye Steak

Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee

I really liked the fact that our hotel room had a kitchen. It made travelling with two kids very convenient.

The bedroom.

The living room. Katie was very grumpy when we first arrived.

Justin's B-day Party

It's Justin's birthday party and he doesn't even make an appearance. While we took this picture he was upstairs taking a nap.

Here's the birthday boy.

Justin and yeye.

Justin loves sitting on this yellow chair.

Justin got two birthday cakes. This yummy chocolate parisian from Viktor Benes Bakery in Gelson's.

And this taro cake from Cathy's Bakery in San Gabriel.

Katie stole most of Justin's new toys and claimed them as her own.

Cousin Max is gaining on Justin and they are six months apart. Can't wait for the kids to all play together.
