Justin and Max

I have noticed that Justin is a very passive person especially when it comes to his cousin Max. Whenever the two cousins are together Max is always all over Justin trying to hug him or kiss him and even though Justin clearly doesn't like it he doesn't complain.

Soccer Shots 4-21-12

We enrolled Katie in Soccer Shots and the first class was this past Saturday. Here she is in her cute little shirt.

Poor Justin wanted to play too but he is a year too young.

The coach teaching the kids the rules of soccer.

After a good game of soccer the team came in for a group huddle.

Chia Te vs Din Tai Fung Pineapple Cakes

David's aunt first introduced me to Chia Te pineapple cakes a few years ago and I fell in love with them. They are hands down the best pineapple cakes! So of course we had to buy some while in Taipei. So we got my stash and then we went south to Tainan and while cruising Costco we saw that they sold Din Tai Fung pineapple cakes. David bought some for his coworkers. So David comes home one day and says that Din Tai Fung pineapple cakes are better or just as good as Chia Te and I told him no way. So we decided to do a taste test. The judges were David, my sister Tracey, and me.

The winner of the contest: Chia Te. David finally admitted that Chia Te is really the best pineapple cakes around. I wish I could bring a whole luggage full of them back with me.

The Jet Lag is Strong in This One

Our first week back from Taiwan I thought we were all actually adjusting to the time difference pretty well. We were actually functioning or so I thought. I needed to cook dinner and Justin was crying for me to pick him up but I couldn't and then the crying stopped. I thought he was finally playing with something or Katie. Then Katie comes over to the stove and goes "didi fell asleep." Of course I go "what!" and turn around to find him sleeping on the hard floor. My poor baby.

Last Day in Taiwan 4-14-12

On the morning of our last day in Taiwan we decided to take a bike ride around Sun Moon Lake. We asked the hotel if they have child seats for the bicycles and they said yes. I was a little hesitant about their child seats but the kids actually loved biking like this and it was very scenic. David actually said this bike path is one of the top 10 bike paths in the world.

Justin is modeling the bike seat. There are little handle bars and foot rests for the kids. We would sandwich the kids between our legs for extra protection.

I don't know how far we got but there were points when we reached a slope where we just had to walk the bikes up the path. You can't tell but the kids were not happy about having to walk so they would complain and lag behind.

When we reached this part of the bike path we called it quits and turned around the way we came. Sadly we  can not say we biked all around Sun Moon Lake.

While waiting at the airport we discovered there was an entire gate devoted to Hello Kitty by Eva Airlines.

This was where we spent a good amount of time as there was a playground for the kids. They tired themselves out for the plane ride home.
Good bye Taiwan. See you next time!

Sun Moon Lake 4-13-12

The kids were so excited to take a boat ride at Sun Moon Lake.

Gondola to Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village.

Katie fought very hard for this particular ride on the carousel. She ran as fast as she could to claim it before the other kids did.

 Lounging in nature.

Our final dinner at Sun Moon Lake.

Off to Sun Moon Lake 4-12-12

Our final lunch in Tainan with David's aunt. We found  a bush where we parked and there was this blackberry looking fruit growing. David's aunt picked it and gave it to Katie.

Katie looking out at the lake from our hotel. She's so cute in her backpack! I wanted a picture with her and Justin but he wouldn't cooperate and wear his backpack.

He just wanted to sit in his stroller and relax. So lazy!

Katie's photography skills is pretty good.

David says this was one expensive gelato. But the kids loved it.

Katie can't take her eyes off this Chinese sausage. It was really good.
