Katie's first school field trip of the year was to visit the pumpkin patch at Tanaka Farms. David worked at home so that I could go with Katie. Here she is with her good friend Grace. These two are inseparable!
Here is Katie, Grace, and Rachel. We call them the three musketeers.
There was a tour of the farm that led us to the petting zoo. Katie and Grace both did not care for the animals at all. I actually had to carry Katie out at one point because she was so afraid of them.
It was pure chaos during picture time. The teachers seemed very disappointed they didn't get a class picture with the kids.
This year the returning students got an official badge with their pictures on it. I hope we get to keep them when they graduate.
The kids got to pick fresh vegetables from the farm.
And at the very end they got to pick their very own pumpkin. The rule was the kids had to carry the pumpkin the entire time. This prevented parents from picking the biggest pumpkin they could find.

Katie's New Scooter
Katie got a new pink scooter because mommy accidentally ran over her old one from Auntie Tracey and broke it. All I can say is why would someone (ahem David) put the scooter behind my big car!
Rose Bakery Cafe & Pirate's Dinner Adventure 9-30-12
David's coworker told us about Rose Bakery Cafe and it didn't disappoint. This place is really small and seating is limited so you have to get there early.
David and I split the California burrito. Man this was so good and it was huge! We were both so full with just half the burrito.
We got the kids a fresh blueberry pancake platter that was also delicious.
At first Katie refused to eat the pancakes which she normally loves. I think it was because the pancakes were purple. So she ate the burrito. But halfway through she decided to give the pancakes a try and realized they were quite yummy!
After breakfast we took a stroll along the beach.
For dinner we met up with James and Lily and their gang for a Pirate's Dinner Adventure show. Of course the kids were knocked out by the time we got there.
Dinner was surprisingly good. It was definitely better than I expected it to be. We started off with either a soup or salad. We chose salad.
Katie and I had the chicken.
David got the pork. And dessert was ice cream with chocolate syrup. How can you go wrong with that!
It was a very busy day but the kids had a blast. At the end of the day we asked Katie if she liked the pirate show. What does she say? She tells us thank you for taking me to see JP. I guess that was the highlight of the day for her.

Traffic Jam
Justin loves to line up all his cars and say they are stuck in traffic. It must be the result of living in Los Angeles!
