New toy

We got the kids a new toy to play outside and they had a blast. They didn't want to stop playing.

Irvine Spectrum 3-24-12

We took the kids to the OC Family Camp Fair at the Irvine Spectrum to see if we could find some summer camp programs for them. The kids got free balloon animals which they loved. Justin got a cat holding a heart and Katie got a flower. They also got lollipops that they actually ate for the first time.

Here is a better picture of Justin's cat balloon.

Katie in Her New Boots

Katie got new boots and she absolutely loves them. She wore them every chance she got in the house. She only took it off to shower and go to bed.

Happy 2nd Birthday Justin!! 3-18-12

I can't believe Justin is already 2 years old! Time is going by so fast these days. We celebrated Justin's birthday with our family.

We got a mesquite tri tip bbq and a mesquite grilled veggie pizza from Stonefire Grill.

We got the baby back rib platter from Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que.

I made a meatball tomesto pasta dish.

Salad.

And I roasted some cauliflower.

Here is the birthday boy opening his first gift. We gave him a sneak preview.

Justin was trying to push his little cousin Max around but Max wasn't cooperating.

The birthday cake, a mint chocolate chip ice cream cake.

The birthday boy getting his first bite of cake.

Grandma and baby Sophia.

The presents! You can barely see Justin and you can't see Katie, except for the top of her head.

My sister Shirley made strawberry cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Here is my sister May showing one off.

Playing with His Food

I gave Justin some blueberries like I usually do and when he stopped eating them and started playing with his train set I thought he was done so I put them away. I go to play trains with him only to realize that he's loaded his train cars with blueberries! If you look closely the yellow and green cars each have 3 blueberries in them.

I caught him in the act with a blueberry in his hand!

So of course I clean up the blueberries and think I have found all of them. A few seconds later I come to this bucket that was turned upside down and what do I see in there. Blueberries! Justin struck again!

TECO 3-16-12

After visiting the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office (TECO) yet again to get paperwork done I convinced David to take us to Diddy Riese for some yummy ice cream cookie sandwiches. We got sandwiches while the kids shared an ice cream cone.

Katie will only eat pink or green ice cream so here she is with a strawberry ice cream cone.

The evil sister hogging the ice cream.

Finally the patient younger brother gets a lick.

After our tummies were full of ice cream we walked around Westwood Village. So for quite some time now I've had this obssession with Reese's sticks but could not find them anywhere. I could only find them on Amazon but I would have to buy a case of them and David would not allow me to buy that many. I searched and I searched and I couldn't find them. Well absence makes the heart grow fonder and I began to want them badly. I finally found a candy store that sells them! I was so happy when I found them.

For dinner we decided to try this place called The Stand.

The kids got a grilled cheese with a side of mac & cheese to share.

David got the classic beef burger.

I got the cilantro lime chicken burger.

And we shared Stand fries.

Justin of course loves all things fries.

And Katie is in love with grilled cheese sandwiches.

7 Year Anniversary Full Moon Sushi 3-11-12

My sister Tracey and her friend Amanda were nice enough to babysit our kids so that we could go celebrate our anniversary alone. We decided to give Full Moon Sushi in Tustin a try.

Baked Scallop

Playing with Jonathan 3-10-12

The kids absolutely love playing with our neighbor Jonathan. He is a year older than Katie and he is the only kid on our street that Katie will talk to. They both go looking for him on the weekends. In fact the first thing Justin says when he wakes up from his nap is "I want to play Jonathan."

Here they are collecting berries from the park.

Justin is such a dare devil. He is already climbing the big kid's slide. Katie wouldn't even attempt this until she was 2.5 years old. Justin has been doing this for awhile now and he's not even 2 yet!
