Eats & Sweets 10-14-11

I don't know how but we managed to make it to Friday. Why was Friday so special? Because David only had to work half day today and by now I was counting down the minutes. For lunch we went to this cute little place called Eats & Sweets. The place was perfect for us because there was a small play area in the corner with toys and books to keep the kids occupied so the adults could finally enjoy their meal.

Justin loved this wooden airplane rocking chair.

Katie loves books so she found one for David to read to her.

David got the quiche and a butternut squash soup. The soup was really yummy.

I got the create your own sandwich with roast beef, provolone cheese, sprouts, and homemade pesto mayo. I really liked this sandwich. Wish I could go back here.

Everybody on Yelp rave about their homemade banana bread ice cream sandwich so of course we had to try one. We got ours with homemade pistachio ice cream. It was good but it literally was two slices of banana bread with ice cream in the middle. I think I could make something like this.

After lunch we took the kids sight seeing and hiking.

They were so wiped out that they both fell asleep in the car.

I saw this in a toy store and I thought it was pretty amazing that someone was able to make a rose and write "I love you" on a etch a sketch.

We ended the day with more ice cream. We went to Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato. Katie chose the birthday cake flavor which David said was way too sweet. How did he know this? Contrary to the picture after a few licks Katie decided she no longer wanted her cone so David had to finish it. We got Justin a baby size cone with peach ice cream. He too did not like his ice cream and refused to eat it. That's why for once the food is no where near his mouth.

I got the coffee heath bar crunch. I didn't realize when I ordered that mine came with two scoops or else I would've ordered two different flavors. Overall this place was really good if everyone had chosen the right flavors.
